- Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
- Romans 8:33–39 - Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Difficulties in life are inevitable, but the Holy Spirit helps believers walk through them and find healing. The modern world offers many 'solutions' for happiness, but this worldly happiness is temporary. Only God's transforming power can change a broken heart and turn a person into one who follows Christ and understands their true worth. To find wholeness, a person must first accept Jesus as Savior. At that moment, the sin that stands between man and God is forgiven. After this, through the power of the Holy Spirit, a person finds the courage to face the pains, disappointments, and sins of the past—things that once forced them to feel worthless. A person who feels whole is content with their life. Difficulties in this world are inevitable, but they do not destroy the born-again believer. Why? Because they know that God has promised to work everything for their good. Conversely, a person who feels empty and fragmented inside often looks fine on the outside but struggles on the inside. This can happen even to some believers if they have not learned to fully experience God's love. The Lord shows His love to the believers who ask for it. And it is through this love that a person finds the wholeness they seek.
Reflection
Do you feel whole within yourself today, or do you need to experience God's love for you more deeply?
