The Truth Will Set You Free
Ephesians 1:3–6
What does it mean to belong to Jesus? This question touches on the very essence of our identity as believers. Understanding the answer brings us deep joy and peace.
God made a way to make us part of His family. Even before the foundation of the world, He planned our redemption so that those of us who were far from Him could draw near to Him through Christ. This truth defines our identity as children of God. When fears and anxieties try to overwhelm us, this truth becomes a steadfast rock for us.
Nevertheless, many believers begin to worry when they think about their sinful nature. They feel fear and shame, knowing that God is against sin. Therefore, we must remember the truth given to us by God's Word: "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus" (Rom. 8:1).
Remember that the Heavenly Father has adopted you as His child. This means that you are very precious to God. In fact, you are so dear to Him that He sent His only Son into a sinful world, so that Christ might die on the cross and you could be close to God.
This is pure and completely undeserved grace — the love that God has poured out on us.
