- John 14:16–18 - And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
- John 16:7 - Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
No matter what today brings, God has given every believer direct access to His help through the Holy Spirit.
Have you ever wished you could directly access God anytime, anywhere? The good news is that through the Holy Spirit, God's help is available to every believer.
Even Jesus' disciples could not successfully complete the work the Lord entrusted to them without divine help. That is why Jesus instructed them to wait in Jerusalem for the coming of the Holy Spirit before they began sharing their faith. Jesus told them:
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you.”
While Jesus was on earth, His physical presence could only be in one place at a time. But now, God's help is constantly with us through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives within all believers and is with every believer always.
With the help of the Holy Spirit, believers can grow to be the people God created and called them to be. With the knowledge and power given by the Helper, we can live as faithful followers of Christ. The ministry of the Holy Spirit includes helping us understand God's truth, giving us strength in situations where our own strength is insufficient, and comforting us in times of sorrow and pain.
Our Heavenly Father loves people so much that He has given the Holy Spirit—the Helper who is always with us—to everyone who believes in Jesus.
No matter what we face today, the Holy Spirit is with us—ready to guide, empower, and comfort us.
Truth for today: We are not far from God's help. The Holy Spirit lives within every believer, and we can rely on His guidance, power, and comfort every day.
