- Romans 8:26-27 - Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Sometimes we do not know what or how to pray. But we are not alone — the Holy Spirit helps us. We do not know the future, and sometimes we do not understand if our requests align with God's will. Therefore, prayer is not just telling God our desires. Prayer is also aligning our hearts with His will. The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness and intercedes for us. Therefore, when praying, there is no need to be in fear, asking, "Am I praying correctly?" Even if we do not fully understand God's will, the Holy Spirit leads us. As we seek God's will, we learn to be more sensitive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
