Jesus – Our Perfect Hope: A Life Being Formed
Bible Readings
- Jeremiah 18:6 - O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
Sometimes it's hard to understand that God is working on us. This can pain our hearts, because we realize there are areas in our lives that need to change.
But God, our Great Potter, sees this process differently. He sees potential in us and has a special purpose for our lives. That is why He shapes us according to the image of His Son — increasing our faith, expanding our ability to receive His power, giving us wisdom and strength.
When the Father disciplines us, He does it not out of anger, but out of His unconditional love and His beautiful plan for us. This is not something to be afraid of. On the contrary, this process makes us more valuable, useful, and fruitful.
Therefore, do not be discouraged when God is forming you. Ask Him: “Lord, what are You forming in me?” Accept His guidance and grow, drawing strength from Him.
**Prayer:** Jesus, I trust You. Not only make me fit for service, but also form Your image in me. Amen.
My hope is in Jesus, because all that He does, He does out of love for me.
🤔 Reflection
How comfortable are you being clay in God's hands as He shapes you? What qualities do you ask Him to develop in you during this process?
