Motivation in Action
Bible Readings
- Hebrews 10:24 - And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
This verse reminds us that thanks to Jesus Christ, we have free access to God. His sacrifice opened the way for us, and we can approach Him with faith. But the Christian life is not meant to be lived alone. Therefore, Scripture calls us to look at others — how can we inspire one another to love and good works? “To encourage and stimulate one another” should not be passive. This means consciously inspiring, emboldening, and calling others to live out their faith in action. It also means that when someone encourages you to good works, respond to it! Because sometimes others see things in us that we don't see in ourselves. Just as a coach helps an athlete develop, so too in the family of faith, friends and leaders encourage us to take steps of faith. Such a community does not arise on its own. It requires time, openness, and a desire to walk together with one another. But when we live this way — drawing near to God, holding firmly to our hope, and supporting one another — we build a Church that reflects the love of Jesus.
