Keep the Faith
Bible Readings
- 2 Timothy 4:7 - I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
In 2 Timothy, we see Paul writing a letter to his missionary friend, Timothy. Many Bible scholars believe this was Paul's final letter, written before his death from a Roman prison. Reflecting on his life and believing his death was imminent, Paul pens this impactful passage:
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" 2 Timothy 4:7
Faithful.
Paul was faithful to God, and God remained steadfastly faithful to Paul. He was shipwrecked. He was stoned. He was abandoned by friends. He was imprisoned. The list of what Paul endured goes on. But he was resilient. He remained firm in his devotion to Christ.
When you reflect on your life, what do you want to say at the end? What will you see when you look back?
In Paul, we see an example of what it means to hold firmly to faith in Christ. He knew what it meant to trust God in everything. He drew strength from God because he could not do it without Him.
In our lives, we encounter moments of doubt and disappointment. Let us hold firmly to the truth of His Word, knowing that God is faithful and will never abandon us. At the end of our lives, may it be said of us that we too fought a good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.
🤔 Reflection
At the end of your life, looking back, will you be able to say, like Paul, 'I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith'?
