- Matthew 7:7-8 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
- 1 John 5:14-15 - And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
- Psalms 119:105 - Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
- Mark 11:24 - Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
- Isaiah 64:4 - For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
When we truly believe that God’s way is the best and let go of our own plans, we become prepared to hear His voice. Yesterday we saw that seeking God’s guidance is a process, and the first step—purification—remains vital throughout. Interestingly, most other steps do not require a specific sequence and can happen in parallel. After purification, the next step is surrender (obedience). This is not weakness; rather, it is an expression of humility and trust. The Lord wants us to be ready to follow Him regardless of the circumstances. Therefore, surrender comes even before prayers for guidance. Scripture teaches that when we pray according to God's will, He hears us and answers. Often, God directs believers through His Word. The passage we read may address our situation directly or reveal a principle we can apply. Sometimes, God speaks directly and clearly to a person's heart. The main point is this: believe that God will guide you, and live according to that faith. The process of seeking God’s guidance is often slow. Therefore, patience is necessary. Rushing ahead or trying to manage situations on our own can lead to mistakes. The all-knowing and sovereign God “acts for those who wait for Him.” Those who seek Divine guidance will surely find—this is God’s promise.
