- 1 John 4:7-10 - Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
- 1 John 4:8 - He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
- Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
When there is no sense of purpose in a person's life, it is easy to fall into despair. But God created every human being with a purpose: to love Him and to be loved by Him. God's love has several important characteristics. God's love is personal. Christianity differs from other religions in that God desires a personal relationship with humanity. He loves each of His children individually. God's love is unconditional. Love is not just something He does — it is His nature. Your behavior or character cannot diminish or increase God's love for you. God's love is open to everyone. His love is inexhaustible. God does not have 'favorites,' but there are people who live close to Him. These are the people who spend time with Him, pray, listen to Him, live in obedience, and want to know Him with all their heart. God wants us all to choose such a relationship. God the Father did not just say He loves us — He proved it. He sent His Son to save us from our sins. People who do not believe in Jesus may live without realizing this unconditional love and care of God. Therefore, we should live in joy and let others know that God's infinite and eternal love is for everyone.
