- Colossians 3:2 - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Have you ever wondered why you view the world the way you do? What do you base your decisions on? How do you choose your friends? What influences the path you take in life?
In reality, every person has a worldview. A worldview is how a person sees life, people, what is right and what is wrong. This perspective influences our decisions, our behavior, our relationships, and even our speech.
A worldview can be compared to glasses. Just as you see everything differently when you wear colored glasses, so too does a person look at the world through the lens of the thoughts they have formed within themselves. If a person's thoughts are filled with fear, pride, or the influence of the world, they will see life accordingly. But God wants us to look at life through His perspective.
The Bible says: "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."
This means that a believer should form their thinking with God's Word. Not everything the world says is truth. A person cannot fully trust their own thoughts either. Therefore, we need to read God's Word, meditate on it, and build our lives according to it.
When our worldview changes: • our decisions change, • our relationships change, • our outlook on life changes.
God wants to make us not just informed, but transformed people. He wants to renew our minds so that we may become more like Christ.
