- Genesis 39:2 - The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
- Hebrews 4:13 - Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
- Psalm 139:11-12 - If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
- Genesis 45:4-8 - And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest. And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
- Genesis 50:20 - But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
- Isaiah 14:27 - For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
“The Lord was with Joseph…” (Genesis 39:2). As Christians, we have a faithful Heavenly Father who does not leave us during difficult days. He knows everything before it happens, and nothing is hidden from His eyes (Hebrews 4:13). God sees everything clearly even in dark times, as if it were broad daylight (Psalm 139:11-12). Through the Holy Spirit, He gives us comfort, strength, and wisdom so that we can endure challenges. Joseph's life is a beautiful example of this truth. His brothers sold him into slavery, then his master's wife slandered him, and he was thrown into prison. Despite this, Joseph experienced God's presence and grace during those difficult days. Joseph probably didn't fully understand what God was doing at the time. But later, when he became the second-in-command after Pharaoh in Egypt, he realized why God allowed all of this. He said that although people wanted to do him harm, God used it all for good (Genesis 45:4-8; 50:20). When difficulties come, remember this truth and be encouraged. The Holy Spirit living within us is able to give us everything we need, to prepare us for every trial, and to be by our side in dark days. Nothing can stop God's purposes (Isaiah 14:27). Because we believe in Christ, we have become children of God, and He has promised never to forsake us. Difficulties do not mean that God has left us. On the contrary, He is working even within those difficulties and carrying out His purposes. Prayer: Lord, do not let me forget that You are by my side in difficult days. Even if I don't understand everything, teach me to trust in You. Give me the strength to rely on Your good purposes in every situation. Amen.
