- Colossians 1:9–12 - For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.
- Revelation 1:9 - I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
- Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
The path of faith is full of God's purpose. Therefore, the Lord calls us to trust and obey Him in every situation. Even if we do not always understand where He is leading us, we can be sure that He is always good. Obedience to Christ does not promise an easy life. We see this clearly in the life of the Apostle John. He was exiled to the island of Patmos for preaching the Gospel. Staying away from the believers he served, John could have questioned God's plan. But it was in that very exile that God gave him the Revelation, the last book of the New Testament. God is sovereign over all the circumstances of our lives. He can use even the most difficult times for our spiritual growth and for the fulfillment of His purposes. This does not mean that God sends every suffering. But it means that nothing in the life of those who belong to Christ can prevent Him from accomplishing His good purposes. Obeying and trusting the Lord brings true peace. Although John was in exile, he experienced God's presence and was part of His plan. God never forsakes His children. He protects, guides, and strengthens believers throughout their lives. This is the path of faith: to trust the Almighty God and follow Him wherever He leads.
