We do not have to witness about Christ to people on our own. God has given us believing brothers and sisters, as well as the Holy Spirit, to help us. ...
Jesus gave us a clear assignment: go and make disciples. The Christian life is an active life—a life dedicated to working, serving, sharing the truth,...
Living a truly exemplary life is possible only when we build our foundation upon the Lord. God's faithfulness is the firm foundation of the Christian life, allowing us to respond to mistreatment with grace rather than retaliation. By looking at God's historical faithfulness to His people and the daily renewal of His mercies, we find the strength to remain steadfast and honor Him regardless of our circumstances.
Even in God's silence, there is a divine purpose: to redirect our attention back to Him. While figures like David and Job felt unanswered, God's silence is often an opportunity to examine our hearts and move from a feelings-based relationship to one rooted in steadfast faith. Silence is not abandonment; it is a season for spiritual growth, learning to trust His character over our immediate circumstances and recognizing His guidance through His Word even when we don't 'feel' His presence.
God's silence doesn't mean He has forgotten you or is unaware of your situation. Even when we can't see what He's doing, He is at work. In the story of Lazarus, Jesus delayed His arrival to perform a greater miracle than healing—raising the dead. God desires our relationship with Him to be based on who He is, rather than just the answers He provides. Times of silence are opportunities for the Holy Spirit to produce fruit like love and patience in our lives as we learn to trust His timing.
God responds to sin in various ways, yet His character remains steadfast. Sometimes He allows individuals to face the natural consequences of their rebellion, as seen with Israel in the wilderness. Other times, He intervenes directly to protect the innocent and defenseless, as demonstrated when He shielded Sarah from the consequences of Abraham's deception. While we may not always grasp why God allows certain consequences while halting others, we can rest in the truth that He is sovereign, good, and always provides a way of escape for believers.
While God's sovereignty can be difficult to fully comprehend, we are called to trust in His inherent goodness. This devotional explores the origin of evil through human choice in the Garden of Eden, clarifying that while God allows evil for a season, He did not create it. Instead, He works to redeem and restore our fallen world. Even when His ways are beyond our understanding, we can stand firm on the truths of His authority and His love.
Following God often leads us through unfamiliar territories, but He faithfully guides us toward His good plans. We often set boundaries around our safety zones, but God desires a grander story for our lives than we can imagine. When He calls us beyond our comfort zones, He is inviting us into deeper trust rather than simply testing us. The Christian life is not about reaching a specific destination, but about following the One who knows the way and has already prepared the path ahead.
