When the prophet Elijah stood before King Ahab, the king must have thought, 'Who does this man think he is to speak to me like this?' Elijah delivered a message from God to the wicked king of Israel: a drought was coming that would cover the entire land. The power of this prophecy did not come from Elijah himself, but from the God who sent him. Elijah was a man of faith. He stayed alone with God, listened to Him carefully, and trusted Him. Therefore, he could speak with courage and confidence because he knew the Source of his message. Today, God does not speak to us as He did to the prophets of the Old Testament. But the principle has not changed: God speaks through His Word. When a believer reads the Holy Scriptures and prays, the Holy Spirit helps them understand God's truth and apply it to their life. However, God's truth is not given only for our personal growth. The Lord wants us to share it with others—to declare the salvation given by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and to encourage people with the Word of God. Start each day with communion with God: read the Bible and pray. Trust what the Scriptures say, apply them to your life, and share what you have learned. We can speak boldly because the authority of our message comes not from us, but from the Lord Jesus Christ, who has all authority in heaven and on earth.
