- Romans 12:9 - Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
“Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.” (Romans 12:9) How deeply do you truly love others? This verse teaches us not to pretend to love, but to love genuinely. What does true love look like? True love seeks the best for the other person. It is not just about saying words that please people or doing things that satisfy them. True love is constant. It does not change based on how someone treats you or how you feel at the moment. When you love with God’s love, the point is not how the other person responds, but how you respond to them. Living out true, Godly love is not always easy. It requires courage. Sometimes you need to push aside the reaction that seems right in the moment and respond to the other person with love instead. When you choose to love today, it can have a huge impact, especially on those who do not yet know Christ. Perhaps today, show unexpected love to someone with a wounded heart. You never know who might turn to Christ because you chose to love. True love is shown not only by words but by attitude and actions.
Reflection
Who is it difficult for you to show love to today, and how can you act in a way that makes that love genuine?
