- Lamentations 3:22-23 - The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
- Lamentations 3:24-25 - “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.
- Psalm 137:1 - By the waters of Babylon, there we sat down and wept, when we remembered Zion.
The faithfulness, mercy, and love of the Lord are with us today, tomorrow, and forever.
The book of Lamentations was written amidst ruins. Jerusalem had been destroyed, the temple was in rubble, and the people were scattered, having lost their loved ones and remaining in confusion. Yet, in the midst of all this sorrow, the author stood and declared an amazing truth: "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
If there was ever a time when it might have seemed that God's goodness had run out, it was exactly at that moment. But as the author looked at the destruction, he was able to see the Lord's unchanging faithfulness behind it.
God's faithfulness does not depend on our circumstances or our behavior. His faithfulness does not diminish during difficult days. He is unchanging, patient, and always by our side. Like an inexhaustible spring, it is renewed every morning—whether we feel it or not.
This means there is not a single day when God's goodness toward you has run out. Not when you are struggling, not when you are grieving, and not even when you feel far from Him. His mercy is new this morning and will be renewed again tomorrow.
Whatever challenge you face today, know this: the love that has kept you until this day will continue to keep and sustain you.
