Pressing Forward
Bible Readings
- Philippians 3:13-14 - Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
The Apostle Paul writes in Philippians 3:13-14: "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Paul understood the danger of being stuck in the past. He had once persecuted Christians, but he didn't let that sin paralyze him. Instead, he embraced God's grace and looked forward.
We too can cling to past mistakes, regrets, or even successes. But God calls us to move forward. The race is not yet finished, the prize is still ahead.
Today, surrender your past to God. His grace is sufficient for you. Look ahead and run toward the beautiful future God has prepared for you.
