Read the Entire Bible
Bible Readings
- Proverbs 30:5 - Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
You have probably seen the challenge we are promoting this year to read the Bible. And you might think: why should I read the Bible? More importantly, why should I read it in its entirety? These are good questions. The Bible is a big book. The thought of reading it can seem very daunting. Plus, there are parts that are hard to understand, and you might say, is it really worth reading it all the way through? To answer these questions, let's look at our verse for today. This verse tells us that every word of God is pure. This means that all of it is important. From the weird parts to the passages you really love, the Bible is the Word of God. As followers of Jesus, we should want to know what God says, every word of it. If you haven't read the Bible before, take it as a challenge for yourself to read it this year. Don't be discouraged by how big it is. It takes about 3-4 chapters a day to read through it. Read the Bible from cover to cover this year. You will be excited to see how many new things you learn!
