Your Life, Your Testimony

Bible Readings
  • Matthew 28:19-20 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
  • 1 Peter 3:15 - But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.

Jesus gave us a clear assignment: go and make disciples. The Christian life is an active life—a life dedicated to working, serving, sharing the truth, and loving. Sometimes we might think that being a believer mainly means coming to church every week and giving offerings. These are good habits. But the last assignment Jesus gave to His disciples was much broader than that. In today's scripture passage, Jesus tells His followers: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” (verse 19). Notice that Jesus commands not just to “convince people to believe” or “win them over,” but to make disciples. A disciple is one who is with their teacher, observing, learning, and becoming like them over time. This kind of growth does not happen automatically. It is formed while eating together, in sincere conversations, in friendships, and over time. Our faith begins to show in our daily lives. This understanding reduces the pressure on us. To be effective for the Kingdom of God, it is not essential for us to quit our jobs and become missionaries or convince our neighbors with a prepared Gospel presentation. Let us simply pay attention to the people God brings into our lives and show honesty, love, and sincere care in our relationships with them. And when questions arise, let us answer them with gentleness (1 Peter 3:15). Most believers were influenced by people who showed them love and earned their trust before sharing their faith in Jesus Christ. Christ has entrusted us with exactly this kind of quiet, daily, and lifelong service.

Reflection

With whom can you spend more time to demonstrate Christ to them, and how can you show them love?
