- 2 Corinthians 12:9 - And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
- 2 Corinthians 12:10 - Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
- John 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
- John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
To be a true overcomer in life, we must seek God's perspective, submit to His will, and trust that He will provide for our needs.
Paul learned the secret of a victorious life: viewing the ups and downs of life through God's perspective and relying on His strength. He was confident that because the Holy Spirit lived within him, God's power was available to him. This same power is available to us.
The first step is to believe that God's power is within us through His Spirit. We must accept that God's primary purpose is not to provide us with a comfortable life, but to transform us into His image. It is also vital to try to view our difficulties through the eyes of Jesus.
After accepting these truths, we learn to rely on Divine power. The key to this is surrendering our will to the Lord. Instead of merely reacting to life's events, we begin to respond in accordance with God's will. Surrendering control to the Holy Spirit helps us accept the Father's plan for our lives.
When we can say, "Lord, everything You send is good for me," then we experience the inner peace promised by Christ. A Divine perspective, obedience, and firm faith are the essential keys to a victorious life.
