- Ecclesiastes 4:9 - Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
- Exodus 17:11 - And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
- John 13:35 - By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Try lifting your hands up and holding them there for as long as possible. No matter how strong you are, after a while you will get tired and won't be able to hold them up anymore. In Exodus 17:8–16, Moses was praying on the mountain, while the people of Israel were fighting the Amalekites below. When Moses' hands were held up, Israel prevailed. But Moses couldn't do this alone for long. Aaron and Hur helped him lift his hands. God did not expect Moses to do everything alone. He does not expect that from us either. God built the church so that believers support one another. Jesus said that people would know His disciples by the love they have for each other (John 13:35). Yes, we rely on God, but at the same time, we need each other. Everyone needs people in their life like Aaron and Hur who support them in prayer and stand by them during difficult times. Ask God to bring people into your life who will pray for you with love and support you without judgment. At the same time, ask Him to show you people around you who need the kind of support Aaron and Hur provided.
Reflection
Who are the people in your life who support you in prayer, and who might need your support today like Aaron and Hur gave to Moses?
