- Isaiah 55:8-9 - For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
- Exodus 3:5 - And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
- Hebrews 9:7 - But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
When we imagine Jesus as the bridge that leads us to God, a question arises: what created this great separation between man and God? The Holy Scriptures clearly reveal the holiness of God. He is Exalted, holy, and glorious. There is a vast difference between a holy God and sinful man. It is not just distance; it is the separation between God’s perfect nature and man’s sinful condition. Moses experienced this at the burning bush; God commanded him not to come too close. Later, in the temple, only the high priest could enter the Most Holy Place once a year. All of this pointed to one truth: a sinful person cannot approach a holy God by their own strength. This is precisely why Jesus came. Only the sinless and perfect Son of God could bridge this divide. Through His death and resurrection, He opened the way to the Father. In Christ, the believer is accepted by God not because of their own righteousness or service, but because Christ’s righteousness is gifted to them. Therefore, we can approach God with boldness — because in Christ, we are forgiven, accepted, and loved.
Reflection
With what boldness do you approach God today because of the work of Christ, or are you still trying to earn His acceptance through your own efforts?
