- James 1:2-4 - My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
- Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Discouragement is one of the most dangerous conditions a person can experience. It can affect almost every area of our lives. Recognizing the signs of discouragement helps us identify it in time and respond correctly. One of the first signs is confused thinking. It becomes difficult to focus, decision-making becomes harder, and it feels as if a dark shadow has fallen over everything. Another sign is the tendency to blame others. When we are in pain, it is easy to look for someone to blame. Sometimes we blame God, sometimes people, and sometimes circumstances. Unresolved anger and bitterness can also be signs of discouragement. If these feelings remain in the heart for a long time, they harm one's spiritual life and relationships. Every believer may become discouraged at times. The main issue is not that it happens, but how we respond to it. Ask God to search your heart, reveal the thoughts that are causing discouragement, and strengthen you with His peace and power.
