Beloved and Found

Bible Readings
  • John 3:16-17 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Through Jesus Christ, the door of salvation is open. We only need to enter through this door. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we become children of God. We are no longer separated from our heavenly Father; we are beloved members of His family. This very truth and the love of God are the foundations of the Gospel. John 3:16 expresses this truth beautifully: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son." We teach this verse to children in Sunday school and share it in various places to proclaim God's love to people. But what is said in the next verse? John 3:17 states that God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Therefore, Jesus did not come to accuse people, but to save them. The condemnation described by John is not a punishment that God imposes on people for their flaws. It is the result of choosing to remain in sin and live apart from God. The Father's love for us moved Him to prepare the way for reconciliation. He does not want to see us far from Him; He wants to see us reconciled with Him. God offers His love to all people and invites everyone to come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ. The door is open. The main question is: will we enter through this door?
