- Deuteronomy 4:29-30 - But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
- Isaiah 55:9 - For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
- Jeremiah 29:13 - And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Every person wants to be understood. This is not accidental — we were created in the image of God. He is a relational God, and He wants His children to know and understand Him. Just as you do not want people to know you only by surface-level facts, simply knowing facts about God is not enough. He wants us to understand how He thinks and what He feels, what is important to Him, and what His purposes are. Of course, it is impossible to fully comprehend the mind of the Creator. But we can better understand the heart and character of God by seeking Him and learning from His Word every day. If we truly want to walk in His ways, we must first truly know Him. Just as we get to know our friends better by spending more time with them, we get to know God better by “walking” with Him and meditating on His Word. God wants you to seek Him with all your heart, and He promises that when you do, you will find Him. Therefore, the next time you feel misunderstood, turn to the God who knows you perfectly. And more importantly, ask Him to teach you to know Him more closely.
