- Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
- John 14:26 - But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Sometimes it is easy to mistake our own desires for the will of God. Therefore, when making a decision or determining a direction in life, we must ask ourselves some important questions. Does what I am hearing align with the Holy Scriptures? God will never command something that contradicts His Word. If an idea or decision is against Scripture, we can be sure it does not come from God. Can I comfortably pray for God's help in doing this? If you hesitate to ask for God's blessing and help in a matter, it may be a sign that the direction is not from God. Is this wise? God does not call His children to reckless or irresponsible behavior. If the decision lacks spiritual or practical sense, it needs to be re-evaluated. Does this align with my identity in Christ? As believers, we are called to be conformed to the image of Christ. If a decision does not match the character of Jesus, we can know it is not from God. The Holy Spirit lives within believers and guides them through God's Word. Therefore, do not rush into decisions. Pray, study the Bible, and trust in the Lord's guidance. Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me to trust in You with my decisions. Help me not to rely on my own understanding, but to lean on Your Word. Give me wisdom through the Holy Spirit so that I may make choices that honor You in my life. Amen.
